Osteometer's
new DexaWare® software is a Windows based
software that uses the well-known Windows interface.
DexaWare® is very user friendly and is the
replacement for the well-known DOS software that
has served Osteometer's customers well for years.
The new software is available for use with the
DTX-200 DexaCare® starting January 2004 and
will be released for the DexaCare® G4 densitometer
shortly thereafter. DTU-one users will continue
to use the current DTU-one Windows software.
The DexaWare® software assesses forearm bone
density with optimised precision and accuracy.
The 8 mm distance between the radius and ulna
is automatically identified by the software. The
software will always be able to repeat the identification
of this anatomical landmark, ensuring excellent
precision (>99% in vivo). DexaWare® also boasts
high in vivo accuracy (>97%).

Another
unique feature is the patented new Region Of Interest
(nROI)1 . The nROI is an area in the ultradistal
part of the radius and ulna with a bone composition
of 65% trabecular and 35% cortical bone. Changes in
bone density is usually first seen in trabecular bone,
which makes the nROI a good site to do follow up testing
for changes in bone density.
The excellent Precision and Accuracy combined with the
new Region Of Interest (nROI) makes DexaWare® makes
any Osteometer DEXA densitometer with DexaWare®
software an excellent tool for diagnosis of osteoporosis
and follow-up on treatment / spontaneous development.
